Awesome.
Hello folks! Sorry I haven't been posting all that much lately! Most of my work (mainly pen sketches) is going on my tumblr (sillywhims), along with general nerding.
POINTS OF INTEREST!:
-I am one of 20 finalists for HalloweenCostumes.com's first ever costume design challenge! My submitted sketch will be posted to their blog in the coming days, so keep an eye out! The design is a play on Monarch butterflies and is a dedication to my departed-grandmother who made me a Monarch butterfly costume in Pre-K. I'm pushing myself to make this one of my best works in honor of her memory (if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be cosplaying or crafty in general). The costume will be up for auction next month and one of you folks can own it! I hope it goes to a loving home- I'm so proud of it so far! It's very sparkly.
-At the end of this month, I'll be going to Walt Disney World! I haven't been there since my internship ended in June '09 so I am BEYOND excited to return "home". It's gonna be different, I know, what with Fantasyland (my turf) being expanded and all...But looking forward to it, nonetheless! I'll be hitting up MNSSHP two nights which I've been DYING to do for years, too. I'm happy this is happening shortly after my birthday, too~
-I've got nothing in the works, cosplay-wise, other than this contest entry. Babs/No. 2 from Motorcity is sitting on the backburner. And OH! If anybody would like to be a part of my Project D40 group (aka those Disney costumes I designed) for Katsucon 2013, lemme know! I've got a few people interested (Dinoland, Imagination!, World Showcase, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland so far, I believe) and it would make my lil' Disney heart so happy to see others breathe life into my designs!
